LINk Locality Volunteers

Southern Test Valley which has now been set up by Locality Volunteers, Anne Meader and Carolyn Nixson invite Hampshire LINk members to get in touch.

Your community needs you! 

Our Locality Volunteer recruitment is running well. At present we are particularly looking for volunteers from Andover,
Eastleigh and its southern parishes and Rushmoor and Hart.

Developing our relationships with local community and service user groups to understand what matters to them is a timely
exercise, so the more team members we have on board the better and more effective we can be as a LINk providing support to our fellow neighbours.

As a Locality Volunteer you will be attending local meetings and events, talking to people and logging any issues raised. The LINk can then work on these with the service providers to change and improve where possible.

These areas maybe:

• Ambulance services, Out of Hours, NHS Direct
• Hospitals and specialists
• Mental Health services
• Community Based services – GPS, dentistry, pharmacy, opticians
• Adult Social Care

If you can commit to on average one day per week and wish to help others we will provide training and support. No CRB is required. The Rushmoor and Hart areas of Hampshire have a small team set up which they wish to expand. They currently meet every 4th Thursday of the month at Rushmoor Borough Council offices Due to cross border issues health and social care services are not always straight forward.
